I signed up with this company in August and they have been charging me double fees and payments since then. I changed my account and they started taking money out of my checking account every 2 weeks.

The sorry excuse for a manager got mad because I would not let her over talk me and hung up on me. I been talking to them over and over and they still can't get it right.

I so called manager Ara told me she was the only person I could talk to but every time I tried to talk to her she would lie and say that she was busy, I can't wait until my membership is up and I would advise EVERYONE to not get a membership at this place. You will rob you blind!!

Reason of review: Problems with payment.

Monetary Loss: $80.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Planet Fitness Pros: Location and cleanliness.

Planet Fitness Cons: Rude employee, Billing practices, Customer service.

Man im having the same issue they are taking 20.00 out of my account each month and i dont go there an after a year it continues. You have to pay58.00to cancel a 20.00 contract robbery Greensboro nc

But you AGREED to the terms when you signed up. The problem isn't them it's YOU!

Either wait the full year and pay $240, or pay the $58 buyout early, maybe saving half, or how about this, USE THE CLUB!. You have great black card benefits you are wasting!

Vonda, after your 12 month commitment expires, you can cancel for FREE.

Just walk into the club, say "I'd like to cancel my membership". Sign the form, get a receipt, and it's cancelled.

What the heck "and it continues"? What continues is the fact that you're an emptyheaded B00B throwing away good money!

PLEASE, for once in your life, practice some responsibility, some thinking, show an ounce of intelligence.

And thanks for posting, too. For newcomers who are looking for a gym to join, it's not the company, the terms are easy and clear - it's the actual complaining human that's the problem!

If your complaint was spot on true you'd have a bank statement to clearly prove double charges AND you certainly would be entitled to a refund. So IF, for the last 5 months, they've charged you double dues, plus amped it to every 2 weeks, you have a very valid case to corporate, that is, if you could prove it.

But let me give you the scenario I read between the lines:

You have a $10 monthly membership.

The double charge is because of the $10 service fee added each month because of insufficient funds.

Your "every two weeks" remark can happen and is valid only when the annual fee is scheduled:

So, on Sept 17 you were charged your Sept dues; then on October 1 you were charged the annual fee; then on October 17 you were charged your Oct dues; AND then dues draft continued every 17th thereafter.

If this scenario is correct, and I honestly believe I'm spot on, you are crying foul because you are overdrafting your bank account monthly and you forgot about the annual fee. They, Planet Fitness, are not "thieves" when all they are doing is monthly drafting your dues and as well as the annual fee according to the Agreement you accepted. These terms are EXACTLY what over 5 million members agreed to when they become members!

(though the annual fee amount and tune of year varies). So, to everyone reading this complaint, there was not enuf information to call PF incompetent thieves, but there was plenty to indicate that this individual blames everyone else for his/her own incompetence at managing bills.
