The SAME employee at the desk who answers phones is continuing to attack me on this web site and is insulting me now. She needs to be fired.

Original review posted by user Jun 16, 2016

BUYER BEWARE! This company is there to suck your money!

It costs 58 dollars to cancel membership and automatically renews for 39.99 plus your next monthly fee of 22 dollars so they get you coming and going. No refunds so I will report them to BBB. Customer service at this Derby CT center is hideous and the person who answers the phone has a nasty mouth. New Haven was at least nice and professional when I called to complain.

The customer is always wrong here.

Don't bother.

Find another gym that bills professionally - it should even be legal! AND NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR DEBIT CARD!

Reason of review: Problems with payment.

Monetary Loss: $61.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Planet Fitness Cons: Staff attitude, Employess and customer service, Disappointing, Lack of supervisor on site, Customer service.

Location: Seymour, Connecticut

heck, I love in freakin Canada, and lady or guy, you are a freakin mess. I don't know who you are attacking, but I really suggest you take a step back and analyse your situation.

Your path is clearly wrong. There is nothing wrong with the Agreement. It's probably the simplest one of all gyms. They make it easy to sign up AND even easy to quit.

People here let off steam against those who complain about the same thing day after day.

They, like me, can easily pinpoint the errors of members.

I'm truly empathetic to your plight, however, you still need to abide by the easy tems of the planet fitness agreement.

A judge will rule to enforce contact law. You can try to sue, but it's a lawsuit that's completely frivolous.

To anyone reading this. Dates matter, so do agreements.

When you agree to terms and conditions with a person or company, that person or company expects compliance. In this case, a membership is active until v cancelled. Cancellations must be in person or mailed (for your record, preferably certified) by a certain deadline. If the cancellation is received AFTER the deadline, YOU WILL BE BILLED an additional month.

If you cancel your membership before the 12 month commitment is satisfied, you must pay a $58 buyout fee. All of these terms are explained when you sign up AND are on the website. There is no fine print regarding a payment. Planet Fitness has a uniform way of doing things so that staff to staff and club to club, presentation of membership options are done the exact same way.

This also means that staff from other clubs know the procedure for all clubs. Planet Fitness strives very hard for uniformity across the country.

There is usually an invitation fee upon sign up, a prorate, a monthly dues and and Annual membership fee. ALL and each is discussed with the member BEFORE sign up AND is agreed to, with signature, during doing up.

Unfortunately, in this kind of situation, there are those who cry foul, after the fact. There is nothing a staff member or a manager can do.

They must enforce the Agreement.

If the club violated the Agreement, and charged you an additional month, for instance if you cancelled your membership before the 10th of June, but were somehow charged for June dues on the 17th, a refund would be in order. The club would also be liable for overdraft fees. So understand, they don't want to charge you an additional month because it would cost them more in the long run.

So if you must cancel your membership, please do so properly. If you want to keep your membership, but for a medical reason, prefer to freeze billing until you can return to workout, come by, in person, with a doctor's note, and your billing will be frozen up to 3 months. Dates matter as the membership billing will begin again unless the freeze is extended with another doctors note.

Always make sure your email is correct so that you receive your receipt in your email. You can always request a hard copy.

(Membership billing cannot be frozen if there is a balance due) What many people expect and even demand in customer service, is that their balances should be waived. This is not possible as it is an owed amount. When this demand isn't met, members tend to say that planet fitness staff is rude and won't help. If a business is to survive, bills must be paid.

Terms of the Agreement must be met ... On both sides.

Planet Fitness Hit With Series of Lawsuits Challenging Disclaimers in Its Membership Contract

There is no renewal fee. It's just an Annual Fee, not a renewal fee.

The first ANNUAL FEE is charged within 4 months of initiation. When depends on the time of year.

All memberships are month to month UNTIL cancelled.

However, many PFs offer Paid in.Full memberships.

These NEVER auto renew. If a member wants to continue, they putchase either a month to month, or a paid in full (if it's still offered)

Correction: I wrote... All memberships are month to month UNTIL cancelled.

PF does have several 12 month commitment memberships. After the commitment ends, the membership becomes month to month in which case the $58 buyout fee does not apply.

Johnatan Jnl

A reminder that I am a fully paid member until the end of the month. I now have legal standing for small claims court as well because I cannot go to a location where the employees are permitted to attack me, even here on the internet. I need a full refund.

If you paid your June dues, YOU are a paid user thru July 16. You will be billed July 17 unless you cancel by July 10.

You have a ZERO argument to present before a judge because the Agreement signed by you is clear and binding.

The judge will only laugh quietly internally and rule against you.

The customer is only wrong when the Agreement is violated by PF. Check all of your transaction dates. These are automatically and hard coded in the software.

No one, absolutely no one, can go back and change anything, not a date, not a dollar amount, nothing. Only future info can be changed. And no matter what, any manipulation of a members account is virtually documented, a cyber paper trail, that again, CANNOT be alters in any way.

The dates matter pure and simple. If you cancelled your membership in time, signed the virtual cancellation down, THAT date and exact time is automatically hard coded, hence, documented, and cannot be altered.

THAT is your important date.

By that date PF is either due the dues, or you are entitled to a refund. THAT date determines the case, nothing more.

OOPS, The customer is only RIGHT when the Agreement is violated by PF.

Wow, this is amazing It will never cease to amaze me how many people refuse to own the decisions they make. It's always someone else's fault.

And now here, without evidence, a poor employee is being blamed. Shame on you for invoking your mother's words and not living by them yourself.

Guest

So what happened. I see, when you signed up you didn't pay attention.

Cancellation is subject to your agreement obligations. You are mad and vengeful because they did not comply with your demand to cancel for free. That you cancelled AFTER the May 25 deadline and were charged the Annual membership fee (not a renewal fee) AND that you cancelled AFTER June 10 and were charged your June dues.

See, agreement obligations... You had a commitment membership and a cancellation prior to the fulfillment of the term is subject to a buyout fee.

Be mad at YOURSELF for not paying attention.

What will the BBB do?

They'll tell you the same thing. You should have PAID ATTENTION!

Now you see, this is the SAME unprofessional discourteous treatment I received at the DERBY location. This is how your employees behave from Planet Fitness.

Mark my words, laws will be placed to keep predatory contracts like yours from taking advantage of consumers. It's bad business practice all around, and it's making people never do business with your company again.

Nope, it's just making you look STUP!D! More than that, cuz you just don't look it, you ARE it.

I will screen shot this and send this into corporate. You are the same woman who attacked me on the phone.

I will also bring this up with the media.

A bit of advice from my mother:

1: Always be polite because it's the right thing to do.

2: Always be polite, because you never really know who people are, or who they know.

Amazing how you had all that information and you aren't supposedly an employee. How did you have access to that information.

I called the manager John today. He now sees what you are doing.

I gave him this website URL.

I have screen shots that will go to corporate.

Certainly, as an employee, you just broke your confidentiality agreement with the company you work for by releasing any personal information about my account on the internet. You are a very large legal liability for your company madam.

Dude, I'm a guy, and tho I worked at a PF, I night longer do. I don't know you, and since I don't know you, I do not have access to proprietary information. What you've done is nothing new as countless others have done and complained and won't take responsibility for their ineptitude.

You seem to know what I look like, and you know about my account information without being told. Breach of confidentiality.

What are you then now, her boyfriend writing for her since her manager told her to lay off the internet? It just shows how toxic and fraudulent this company is, and activity engages in bulling practices with customers.

You aren't fooling anyone. People read these reviews and they will learn to stay away, and take your company to court as well.

Delusional and Dumb. Paranoid and Predatory.

Wacko and Weird.

Haha, read thru these complaints and you will find very few legitimate issues, and one common thread. those people don't listen blame everybody else.

I didn't read anywhere on this post that described what you looked like or any private info about you. All I read were generalities that described you, and people like you, to a tee, blame, blame, blame, check out any mirrors lately? Didn't think so.
