On Sunday, June 14, I was watching TV and saw a commercial where your marketing department presented an African American male yelling at a white female. Purpose is to show that your gyms aren't intimidating.

The theme was made very clear and is offensive to me. Every African American and any other citizen supporting fair imaging in the media should boycott your gym. Your commercial is just another means of portraying African males in a negative way. What message does that leave with young impressionable mind?

I work in the educational system. Children are taught to analyze and make connections. Why not the same commercial and use two white females? We still in live in a country with racism, hidden racism with subliminal messages.

I've called two Planet Fitness Centers today and no manager on site. One in Woodbridge and another in District Hts, Md.

My next contact is the NAACP.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Location: Washington, District Of Columbia

Thanks for this insight, I won't be joining PF after reading this! I'm an educated African American woman and know how to maintain my composure when I'm upset.

They EXPECT us to act fools do they portray us as such! We must take a stand and show them that people react individually, not because of our race!

Argh! I seriously mean it, you will never be happy when you keep looking under rocks to be offended.

You'll will forever make it up just to justify your ideology.

If in an ad for a riding mower you see a white man on it you say, "so, black people don't have lawns!"

If it's a black man on the riding mower some may infer immediate racism due to pandering.

If it's a hispanic man, "well then, he must be the illegal gardener"

if it's a man of any color, women will be upset because it's not a woman, that the machine is too complicated for a woman to use.

If it's a woman on the riding mower, then women decide to feel that they are portraying a product that is so simple to use that even a woman could use it, deciding that they are portraying women as stupั—d, and so on, and so on. Golly, gosh, gee wilekers!

Time to start using green aliens on lawnmowers! But don't worry, they'll have a problem with the picture, too, because no one has a sense of humor anymore, on earth or in space, cuz everything between your ears has been turned to mush.

OMG! Stop looking for offense.

You'll find it under every rock and behind every label if you decide it's there when it isn't.

Start thinking human instead of race! Get a life man!

Apparently you've never been to a meathead gym. However, besides that, if you are looking to be offended, you'll find the offense even where no offense is given or intended.

You'd have a problem even if the race was reversed, too, I'm positive of it. How about 'get a life's and either veg out on the couch before your favorite refunds of Ugly Betty, or get off your *** and get on a gym. You'll find that the core philosophy of Planet Fitness is acceptance for all, no matter what their appearance or creed, etc. That's why I love the place.

They loved me when I weighed 350 and supported me every time I came in. I made friends with the trainer and the staff. I received amazing encouragement. AND I am sooo mixed race, I'm Heinz 57.

I've had the wonderful upbringing to be who I am rather than what I am. My Planet Fitness all they did was help me. The commercials hit me in the door. They are funny, some hysterically funny that I had to check them out.

So how about getting off your highly and ridiculously offended horse and walk inside and checkout the atmosphere.
