once the 10th has passed, the billing is set in motion.Depending on which day of the week the 17th falls, the draft file is in motion up to 2 days before. Your payment the day before offers no guarantee because of auto draft. While I do believe that one of the payments should be refunded, they can also be applied to future dues.My 18 year old had a very expensive overdraft lesson.

I didn't bale him out. $20 cost him $100 extra, more than a days pay on 2 PF $10 memberships. He hasn't overdrafted since.

Lesson learned. Youth is not an excuse.

They pull this crap on customers all the time. It's stealing but unless you stand up to them, you will never get the money back.5 steps.File a complaint with the BBB for the location you have the problem with.

If you don't see a BBB webpage contact the BBB to submit your complaint and they will set one up for the location.File the same complaint with your state attorney generals office.Dispute the charge on both her bank account and your credit card. Although she might have to change her bank account number to prevent further drafts. They utilized many fraudulent tricks including changing their ID to trick your bank into thinking it's a different business debiting the account.Cancel her membership and tell them you're not paying anymore of the fees. Don't worry about their threats for collection activities.

Gyms can no longer report debts to the credit bureaus.Get her a membership at a more reputable gym. Planet has the worst reputation of all gyms.

When you think of things that might affect your credit, a pf membership probably is not one of them. After all, this is not a credit account like a credit card or loan, so why does it matter for your credit score? While a gym membership does not affect your score as much as credit account, mismanaging this agreement could lead to credit problems down the road.Your will probably not report the payments on your membership to the credit bureaus. Making your payments on time will not help your credit score and late payments will not hurt your score. It is not like a credit card where even one late payment can badly damage your credit rating.

Since payments on a pf membership do not seem to impact your credit score, it is easy to assume the entire agreement does not matter, but that is not true.pf clubs are independently owned and operated. If you are repeatedly late on paying for your membership, the owner could be frustrated and report your missed payments as delinquencies to the credit agencies. This can drag down your credit score and show up as negative information on your credit report. The owner could also send your account to collections, which could result in costly fees and more credit problems on your end. Even though you can probably get away with being late on the occasional gym payment, repeatedly missing payments can lead to serious problems....and if a lender sees adelinquency, they will be worried.

This is not true. PF uses ABC Financial to handle their billing.

All gym billing companies are credit reporting attempts are refused. All three credit bureaus won't accept them. If the gym owner was mad, he could send it to a third party collection agency to harass the customer with phone calls and nasty letters but any attempt by those collection agencies to report to credit bureaus are automatically declined for gym contracts. The harassing phone calls are also easy to get rid of.

Tell them you do not wish to be contacted anymore and if they are law compliant, the must cease to contact the member. I'm sure their are still a few rouge collection agencies out their but they are fly-by-night operations that I doubt a larger gym company would hire because of litigation risks.
