Planet Fitness - Feeling Ripped Off
I requested to change my membership from the Black Card ($20.05 monthly ...which I was told was $19.95 monthly when I joined over a year ago) to the $10 plan from my gym in Mableton, GA (770732 ****). I was told I had to pay $33.00 in upfront fees to downgrade.
My account has already been drafted $20.05 in advance. Why should I have to pay anything additional to downgrade verses just drafting my account $10 verses $20.05 going forward? What exactly is the $33 for?
It never ceases to amaze me how companies take advantage of consumers by grudging them out of money. $33 for each time a member wants to up or down-grade is ridiculous.
Reason of review: Return, Exchange or Cancellation Policy.
Monetary Loss: $33.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

It never ceases to amaze me how consumers make purchases yet conveniently do not recall the terms of the Agreememt.
Sounds to me like you are hoping to take advantage of the company citing the fact that you don't remember what you agreed to.
Your membership is probably a 12-month commitment. You had to pay a portion of that commitment fee in order to convert your membership to the $10 monthly.
It is real policy based on your agreement
I think you paid a downgrade fee and perhaps a portion of the commitment cancellation fee . You're lucky you did not have to pay full $58 plus tax.
