LUNKING MY PRIVACY It is wrong that recently the planet fitness in Aston PA requires a guest of a black card member has to show id, and have their drivers license scanned by a high tech reader. How is such an police state tactic justified? Why do they need a scanner? What is that being used for? That type of thing is way too intrusive.

Planet Fitness Hi Jeffery - Thank you for your post. Black Card guests are not members, so they are not in our system. This is why some franchises are now requiring guests to sign in and provide a valid state ID, to assure complete security for all of our members. We certainly apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you or your guest.

NO PRIVACY POLICY.PLANET FACISTNESS..I was the guest of my son who has a black card, PL required I have state ID. They say for security, the euphemism for of the national security state. Showing iD was not enough, they put my driver's license on a high tech scanner. WHY???!!! Then they had NO PRIVACY POLICY to show me how my information was to be used.

Big surprise, I am now blocked from commenting on planet fitness Faxcebook. I expect to be banned as a guest next.

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

This is blatant data-mining and the selling of your private information. PF, and many companies reap HUGE dollars for the selling of your personal info, including: your Dr.

Lic, where you bank, your IP address, browsing habits, and much much more. The selling of our "lives" had become epidemic and anyone who has had their identity stolen, or bank account hacked (I have had both) , knows the problems associated with cleaning it up after the breach. PF, and most places are very open about this policy if you read the on-line page regarding security and privacy rights. (basically none).

It is disgusting, and PF is like the extortion guy in the mafia if you try to cancel. Get ready for huge and never ending fees.

They know its not viable for most people to sue them, so they continue violating the Consumer Protection Act. Try contacting your states Attorney General, but I wouldn't hold me breath.

It's also not just your guest, but all guests.

you are not being singled out. The drivers license scanning just makes it quicker at checkin, otherwise the data entry is manual and holds up the checkin process.

You don't want to do it, find another gym.
