Dear Corporate Office:

My name is Nancy St Clair, check in number (754)777-****. Moments ago I encountered with Olivia and Britney, your staff. They were very unprofessional and condescending. I initially wanted to freeze my account due to my recently diagnosis of seizures. She contacted her other manager and stated the documentations needs to say, "I can't work out." I told Olivia I cannot drive long distances and my doctor is in Miami (Harbor Island) just to add the verbage. However, I had recent documentation from a medical doctor stating my diagnosis.

Olivia did not seem apologetic, empathetic, generic, simply working the front desk to survive. Not to really cater to the planet fitness members. It seems like she was ready to go home and clock out. Britney too.

Me: "I'm not doing that. I have documentation, including 7 days of recent hospitalization. Are you even apologizing.

Olivia: Oh this is not an apology.

Me: Whats with the attitude?

Olivia: I don't have an attitude. Its in your contract. You should read it sometime.

Me: Why do you have to sound condescending?

Olivia: I'm not sounding condescending. Condescending is ..." you need to look it up because you don't know how to use the word.

Me: You're sounding condescending right now.

Olivia: Are you cancelling or not?

Then a member comes in and I explain to him regarding the regretful and awful service I have received. And Olivia seems visibly upset.

Member: Yeah, but she has a job.

Me: I understand but you can be respectful. I don't want people to stigmatize and believe all black women have attitude. We can be civil adults.

Member: Yeah true

Olivia: Oh please don't bring my color into this.

Me: You see. Attitude.

Olivia: Wouldnt you be mad if someone keeps saying you have an attitude?

Me: No [I wouldn't]. I want the corporate offices number and the manager's name.

Olivia offered the managers card but I asked Britney.

Me: I want the store manager's name, cell, and the corporate.

Britney: I could give you the corporate office and manager name but I can't give personal information.

Britney knew she may lose her job so she only gave me the corporate number.

Me: What about the manager's name

Britney: I'm not allowed to give personal information.

Me: I understand the cell, I just need the manager's name.

Britney: I cannot give personal information

Me: Ok I heard you said that already

Britney: I know. I'm allowed to repeat my self.

In conclusion: You get what you pay for. In 24 hour fitness, I never experienced this with their staff. When I got into my car accident, I didn't have to jump through a thousands hoops to freeze my account. I had documentation of my car accident ready to show them and they freezed it without asking me. However, its pricier. Your gym has young unprofessional, smartaleck, immature staffer. Thanks to Olivia and Britney, I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO PLANET FITNESS. This incident happened around 8:00PM. ANd unfortunately, stressful unhealthy exchanges like that also trigger my seizure episodes. Therefore, if I suffer a seizure in the next few days, I am holding Planet Fitness Coconut Creek liable and responsible.

I'm considering filing a civil suit of discrimination again the Planet Fitness Brand. They should be able to accommodate me by reconsidering their policy stating my documentation needs to say I can't work out in order for me to have a freeze on my account. I have seizures. Any moment I can lose consciousness. So while I am conscious, I'm trying to get my affairs in order. Olivia and Britney had no empathy regarding my condition.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $10.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Planet Fitness Cons: Brittany was rude, Olivia was rude.

Thousands of people come in with sob stories. What you wanted was more than what you got.

YOU WANTED AN I'M SORRY. Why are you freezing, though? If you have several seizures a day, yep sounds like often, you should be cancelling. Your note did not list workout restrictions.

The staff, regardless of attitude, gave you correct info. While I agree that the conversation went in the wrong direction, you were offended and escalated the offence instead of ending the visit. Sorry, customer service is not easy. Though every now and again you receive truly snobby people, most of the time its talk and excuses escalated when policy or contracts differ from what the customer wants.

I wish you well and overcoming of your illness, but you can't carry that with you to everyone you meet. No one really wants to hear it, they can't do anything about it, and it has nothing to do with contracts.
